#ReadingIsFun

This term we are going to have some fun reading picture books to one of our favourite picture book characters…Pig the Pug

You can have the chance to take Pig the Pug home and have fun reading aloud one of your favourite picture books to him (Using expression and doing the voices!). Take a photo of you with Pig the Pug and your book to add to our slideshow and please include some information about your book and/or photo.

Pig the Pug has become quite a ‘Reading Rockstar’ at our school over the past two terms! He went home with 86 students in Term Two and 67 students in Term Three. Thank you for reading a picture book to Pig the Pug, sharing your photos and comments with us and making #ReadingIsFun a huge success!

  18. Thank you for your great comments 3MC!

I’m so glad to hear that you think taking Pig the Pug home to read to him is a great idea. I really didn’t expect it to be so popular!

I’m also glad that you enjoy looking at the photos of Pig the Pug visiting people and listening to stories. I’m getting a bit jealous and wish I was the one being taken home and read to by people!

Xavier and Pig the Pug were looking very comfy reading on the couch!

I hope more people in 3MC will be lucky and get their name chosen from our raffle box (and I’m pleased people think that it’s a fair way to choose people).

    Happy reading!

I’m very impressed that your book shelf is so tidy all the time. It took me ages to do lots of shelving in our library after school this afternoon. It was looking very tidy when I left school, but it won’t last long.

I read every night before I go to sleep.

#readingisfun when you get to read the LRC blog and see students enjoying their reading.

It was so lovely to see students from 3O reading with Pig the Pug. I even got to see some past Prep Delicious faces which was lovely.

I wonder if the teachers will be allowed to put their name down for Pig the Pug…

    Happy reading.
    Mrs O’Malley

  41. Hi Mrs O,

Thank you for dropping by to read our #ReadingIsFun page.

It has been a delight seeing how excited students are when I deliver Pig the Pug to them each day. He has been to 70 homes so far this term. I love receiving emails each night to see what book each person has chosen to read to Pig the Pug. I love the creative photos too!

I was only going to send Pig the Pug home this term BUT he is so popular we will continue next term. At the beginning of Term 3 (after our Pig the Pugs have a holiday and a bath), students can get a raffle ticket for a chance to take Pig the Pug home and teachers are more than welcome to join in too!!
