Each year for Book Week we have a Creative Challenge. I hope there will be lots of students joining in and having fun letting their imagination and creativity run wild with ‘Books Light Up Our World’

We have been talking about making Story Book Paper Bag Lanterns. Here are some great ideas and steps for making them from My Little Bookcase

You can also search online for “Books Light Up Our World” and select ‘images’ to find some of the ideas we have talked about in the LRC…

  1. Hi Miss Y
Sorry not about books or anything but I forgot where to look for the images for book week. I have just finished adding to the PRC. Please tell me what it is going to look like that night. Actually you don’t need to tell me because Thomas and I will probably be there that night. I can’t wait and I don’t know about Thomas.

  2. Hi Holly,

Great to hear you have updated your PRC books. I will verify your books tomorrow.

If you see me in the LRC this week I will show you where to look for ideas for your Creative Book Week Challenge. There will be some examples in the library too.

I’m looking forward to a magical night of stories when we have ‘Books to Light Up Our Night’ in our library…

    Miss Y 🙂

  3. Hi Miss Y,
    It’s me Madison from 6C,
Today I was in one of your library classes today and you were talking and showing 6C pictures and poems created by other students in the school.
I want to take a picture of city towers that are made out of books and little houses that are made out of decks of cards.
I was just checking with you if its okay and that I can do it.

    P.S
Please reply back on what you think because I would like to start as soon as possible:)

  4. Hi Madison,

It’s sounds like a fabulous idea! Great to see you using your creativity and imagination. Just make sure it fits in with the Books Light Up Our World theme or it’s about a book that lights up your world.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you create…

    Miss Y 🙂

  5. Hi Miss Y,
I have just finished painting my clay models. I am trying to finish them this weekend so I can bring them into the LRC on Monday. I am having lots of fun, even though it’s a bit fiddly, making them.
See you on Monday! Bye for now!

  7. Hi Miss Y,

For Book Week I am going to dress up as EJ12. But I still don’t know what book to represent. I better get thinking and reading. I am really enjoying reading EJ12 books.
    See you on Thursday!

  8. Hi Imogen,

Coming as EJ12 for Book Week is a great idea! I’ll look forward to seeing which book you will choose to represent.

I’m getting my costume organised too and I hope people will like who I have chosen.

See you on Thursday in the LRC…

  9. Wow all of those lights are amazing I think next week will be a blast. I am so excited.

    P.S
I hope every one will have a great time and I hope you do too.

  10. Hi Miss Y,

I think for ‘BOOK WEEK’ the book I will represent will be’EJ12 Girl Hero-In The Dark!’ I will wear a black top, a pair of pants, a pair of black gloves, a black head-band and a torch. I hope I can get all of this on the weekend. I wonder if I should bring my charm-bracelet? EJ12 has a CHARM-bracelet. CHARM stands for (Clever Hidden Accessories with Release Mechanism) and grows to normal size and turns into something real. I just hope I can find it. I will need to wear a black hair-tie since I am not allowed to wear my hair down at school. I can’t wait until
    ‘BOOK WEEK’!
See you on Friday-if I arrive early!

    HAPPY READING! 🙂

  11. Hi Tabitha,

Everyone did a fabulous job with their book light bulbs and I love how our giant light bulb and small light bulbs light up our library with books!

I’m sure we will enjoy celebrating Book Week with our big day on Wednesday. I hope you have a great time Tabitha.

  12. Hi Imogen,

It sounds like you have thought about everything you need to be EJ12 – Hero in the Dark. Unless I change my mind, I will also be wearing black for my character….

It is going to be exciting to see all of our book characters coming to life at school on Wednesday!

    Happy reading!

    Miss Y 📚💡🌎
