How to draw Greg Heffley by Jeff Kinney

Watch this video of Jeff Kinney drawing Greg Heffley. ย I was really interested to learn that Jeff usually uses the computer to draw his characters. ย Listen carefully as Jeff explains why he draws Greg the way he does and he has some great tips for budding cartoonists!

If you are inspired do some drawings of Greg over the holidays bring them into the LRC to share next term. ย Happy drawing!

  1. Dear Miss Y,

I loved this video of Jeff giving us tips on how to draw Greg. He makes it look so easy and I have to say I will try to draw Grey and let you know how I go.

I do like to draw as a matter of fact I still am able to draw a sea monster which I first drew him/her when I was 12 years of age. BB thinks it’s rather funny but I think the sea dragon is rather cute!

Hope you have a nice holiday. Take care and hope to re visit real soon Miss Y.

  2. Thank you Miss Yeomans for the great video showing how to use lines and shapes to draw cartoon characters. With all the wet weather in Melbourne I’m sure lots of students have made the most of their time staying inside by playing board games, reading , drawing cartoon characters and completing on-line tasks.
I wonder how many characters will be brought to school the first week back after the holidays.

  3. Dear Miss Y,
    Artistic post.

I just loved drawing Greg it was so much fun with Jeff Kinney. When mum saw my drawing she said “it looks awesome”. I made Greg’s shoes really fat but it still looked good.

Miss Y thank you so much for posting this video up I think I will enjoy practicing to draw Greg Heffley.

    From your pal,

    BB.

  4. Hi Mrs Stewart

I hope there will be lots of Greg Hefley pictures to look at when we get back to school.

It has certainly been good weather for indoor activities. I’ve enjoyed reading snuggled up on my couch. What about you?

  5. Hi BB

I’m glad you have enjoyed drawing Greg! I’d love to see your pictures. Jeff makes it look easy, I think he could just about draw Greg blindfolded and still get right!

    Happy drawing BB…

  6. Dear AA

How did you go with your drawing of Greg? Was it easy?

I love that you can still draw your sea monster! It’s your very own creation from your imagination. Does your sea monster have a name? I’m not that good at drawing and am always in awe of people who can draw and paint.

  7. @ Miss Y,

Thank you for writing back to me. What a great question you asked me. You know I have never ever named my sea monster.

Mmmm you have given me something to think about.

BB and I would like to wish you a very happy birthday for you today. May it be filled with heaps of huge hugs and surprises!

We sent you an e card but it would not accept your email address. Or maybe I didn’t do it right but I am pretty sure I did as I did do it four times.

Also have a great day back at school Miss Y!

  8. Dear AA

Let me know when you have decided on a name for your sea monster.

Thank you so much to both you and BB for your birthday wishes and your lovely birthday gifts (you spoilt me!). I had a lovely birthday and first day back yesterday. It was great to be back in the LRC and see all of the wonderful students at our school.

I’m sorry the e-card didn’t work for you, thank you for thinking of me!

    Enjoy your week AA…
